Since taking office, Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Republicans’ actions — many of them unconstitutional and in violation of federal law — have led to the firing of thousands of essential civil servants. These people are responsible for our public safety and health, they help small businesses and nonprofits do their important work, and they process payments through programs like Social Security and Medicare that keep people alive.
