Rep. Jayapal On Anonymous New York Times Op-Ed From Senior Trump Administration Official
Washington, D.C. – House Judiciary Committee Member Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (WA-07) released the following statement on the anonymous Op-Ed in The New York Times authored by a senior Trump Administration official:
“This Op-Ed matches many similar troubling reports, and confirms again that Donald Trump is not fit to be President of the United States. Equally at fault though are Republican leaders who time and time again fail to hold the President accountable and continue to carry his water.
“The content of this piece – and accounts of a destructive president with no moral center – is deeply disturbing. If this truly is the state of the White House, it’s in the best interest of the American people for the author and other like-minded individuals to declare themselves publicly, resign and refuse to allow this President and his lies to continue.
“Anonymous Op-Eds are all fine and well but the country deserves leaders committed to putting country over party, and to protecting our democracy openly (not anonymously), in the court of law and before a Congressional committee.”
