Rep. Jayapal to Host Immigrant and Refugee Roundtable on Inauguration Day

SEATTLE – On Friday, Jan. 20, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal will host a roundtable in Seattle with immigrants, refugees and immigration advocates to hear their stories and concerns.

Amid a climate of fear and threats to their human rights posed by President-elect Trump, Rep. Jayapal and advocates will discuss a plan of action moving forward.

Rep. Jayapal previously founded the immigrant rights group Hate Free Zone, now OneAmerica, and successfully sued the George W. Bush administration to stop the illegal deportations of thousands of Somalis after the September 11, 2001 attacks. OneAmerica was also a key player on comprehensive immigration reform at the federal level.
