Rep. Jayapal Statement on the Midnight Rules Relief Act
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal released this statement following the passage of the Midnight Rules Relief Act.
“Just two days into the new Congress, Republicans are already delivering for special interests,” said Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington’s 7th Congressional District. “Instead of focusing on creating economic opportunity for all, expanding healthcare, and taking action on climate change, House Republicans are busy pushing through measures that will put our public health, safety and environment at risk.”
Midnight Rules Relief Act (H.R. 21): This bill amends the Congressional Review Act to allow Congress to disapprove, as a whole, rules and regulations submitted by the Obama Administration at the end of the President’s term.
Rep. Pramila Jayapal represents Washington’s 7th Congressional District, which includes Seattle, Vashon Island and portions of Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, Burien and Normandy Park.
