WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal released the July 2017 Casework Report. The report offers an overview of more than 250 constituent services cases that Jayapal’s office has taken on.

Constituents with cases compiled in the report reached out to Jayapal’s office with service requests that ran the gamut. Caseworkers contacted the appropriate federal agencies and worked to resolve constituent issues and successfully close their cases.

“Among my duties as a member of Congress, casework is paramount. I made it a top priority upon being elected to have a strong constituent services operation in the district office, and to ensure that constituents know to come to us for help. Serving the people of our 7th District is the bread and butter of what we do, and so far my office has helped over 250 people sort out issues ranging from Social Security Disability to U.S. Postal Service delivery,” said Rep. Jayapal. “I’m proud to release our July 2017 Casework Report, which offers an overview of our progress thus far.  I encourage any constituents in need of help with a federal agency to contact my office.”

During the first six months of the 115th Congress, Jayapal’s office helped more than 250 constituents in the 7th District and saved them over $86,000 by sorting out Social Security problems, federal disability filings, Internal Revenue Service difficulties and veterans’ benefits. The office has also assisted dozens of constituents with navigating immigration issues, including visas, citizenship and employment. According to the report, Jayapal’s Seattle office has already resolved 129 cases.

Jayapal’s district office is focused on helping constituents cut through the red tape, solve problems and answer any questions.
